Very Versital Item--One Flaw
I have one of this product in each of my four cars, motorcycle and with my Carhart work pants and chore coat. Its only flaw is that the tabs that restrain the tools from opening beyond their intended limit are not strong enough if too much hypertension is applied in use. The tabs cannot be bent back into place.
I love my Shrade MultiTool!
Mom bought this for me in 1998 for Christmas. I carry it on me everyday and use it everyday, I'm in IT and use the phillips screw driver the most. I have forced it to cut thick fencing wire too many times to count. It has been dropped, thrown, twisted to the point I thought it would break. It has doubled as a hammer on many occassions. It is severly abused. It just keeps working! I've had to replace the belt loop on the leather sheath once, but the tool itself has never failed me!
I chose the Shrade because I do not have to open the whole tool just to use a phillips screwdriver. It is comfortable in my smaller hand and I love that the most often used tools lock in place. The lock is easy to manipulte even with gloved or frozen fingers. It is worth every penny!
Missed mine
Love this product. I had one years ago that ended up missing. Finally, replaced it. Great buy for the price. I seem to recall that it used to have a separate lanyard ring that folded out but still love it. The locking blade and saw functionality is really safe compared to older leatherman products. Spend a few minutes to work some oil into the plier hinges and break it in as soon as you get it to limber up the action.

Having been a huge fan of my Schrade Multi-Tool, I was devastated when it came up missing. My favorite feature is the fact that I don't have to open the pliers to access the other tools. My second favorite feature is the price. I had forgotten how affordable it was compared to some of the Leatherman and Gerber tools. I went to Dick's, Lowes, Home Depot, called Cabella's and Gander Mountain...no luck. But Amazon had it in stock with quick shipment and I was back in business. One reason why I didn't rate this a "5"...The metal doesn't seem quite as high quality as my older Schrade when it came to the shell. The individual tools are still A+. I don't know if it was a change that took place when Taylor purchased the rights to manufacture/distribute the tools or not, but it isn't as good. The sad ending to the story is that I found my original tool within a week of ordering its replacement. Guess I have a back-up now, and I couldn't ask for a better one.

I had this knife for 7 years and just recently had it confiscated by airport security when I accidentally brought it in my carry-on. Talk about a disappointment!
The think is solid as a rock. You can flip the pliers open like a butterfly knife when you're working on something and only have one available hand. I found that I used the pliers more than anything else, but the knife, saw, screwdriver, can / bottle openers all work great too.
It served me well for 7 years and I was sick to have it taken by TSA. I'm glad to see that I can by another one though. Thank goodness!
