From the Editors
The SOG Trident uses our well-proven means of delivering a knife blade to the open position with S.A.T. Now using our patent pending Arc-Actuator, the Trident locks stronger and releases easier. There is also a built-in safety to lock the blade closed. When it shows red, you are ready to go. What also makes the Trident so unique is the patent pending Groove in the handle, which allows the operator to cut Para cord, fishing line, etcetera without having to open the blade. The blade is 3.75" and is AUS8 stainless steel construction. 8.5" overall

Amazing
This knife is amazing. I have always carried a knife with me to do simple chores, etc. The problem is they break or don't hold a sharp edge. this knife is excellent. Spending the extra money for a lifetime guarantee is worth the money. I just realized i could leave a review. I have owned the knife for about a year without sharpening and use it every weekday at work (UPS). Still cuts almost as well as the day i got it in the mail. BE CAREFUL. The company comments that opening and playing with this knife is addictive. They are right. I play with this thing constantly. It opens very fast and holds solid. Knife is very sharp and always obey the number one rule. Never cut towards yourself. I have cut myself three times with this thing and it cuts deep. It is military quality for sure.
Decent folder with flaws.
I bought this knife and tested it out for a couple days before returning. The blade was probably the high point of this knife, it came very sharp and the finish felt really nice. THe handle felt a bit cheap to me and the overall length is a bit much. The hook "Groove" is virtually useless for cutting anything other than some thin string, it's just not designed well; I have a couple dedicated hook knives I use in Skydiving and the design on this knife just doesn't work well at all, and it definitely will not cut you out of a seatbelt without opening up the knife, though I don't know if it was truly designed to operate as a rescue/hook. I ended up returning this knife and getting a Benchmade Barrage instead which is far and away a better knife in every way.
Good Knife.
I am really partial to SOG knives and have never had a bad one. This one is no exception. The blade hold its edge well and the handle is incredibly comfortable. I've put it though a bit of abuse and it still looks and feels like new. The only quirk I have with it is the safety. It tends to have a mind of its own and switches itself on and off from either brushing the inside of my pocket or again anything else. But that really is just a minor thing that doesn't bug me but so much. All in all, a great knife.
Sharp
Good knife all around. It was so sharp that the first time I closed it I slightly stabbed myself. (My first tanto blade) At times I have a little trouble opening it with one hand. But other than that, I am very satisfied. It is the sharpest knife I have ever had and that includes the seal pup I also got from SOG. I have other cheaper knives, but none compare to this. SOG has me convinced that they make a good knife and the price is right.
SOG Trident Tanto
This knife is bad-ass! Feels good in the hand, and has a nice spring assist. Not quite as smooth as a kershaw spring assist, but more heavy duty. It is not flat black like I thought, but looks good and has a nice finish.I thought it was kind of cheap and light at first glance, but then realized that the plastic handle is extremely durable and easy to hold. It comes very sharp out of the package, and was packed nicely in a box(that could hold 20 of them) The wire/string cutter is not to great... fishing line is about all you will cut with it. I thought I had broken it after cutting melons and throwing it into the dirt a few times (not how I usually treat my knives) but I just rinsed with hot water and re-oiled the blade and was back to brand new! But after about a month of hard use and in this case a lot of abuse, it is still going strong! Awesome knife!
